Mission
The mission of GEAR is to mobilize Gusii members in the Diaspora, in true friendship, to active participation, in unity, to enhance the educational opportunities, progress, and educational success of the Gusii child.
About
The Gusii Educational and Advancement Resources (GEAR) organization is one of the outcomes of the recommendations of the Gusii Educational Conference held on Saturday, July 29, 2006 at the Maple Grove Community Center, Minnesota, US. The conference was organized and sponsored by Minnesota Kenya International Association (MKIDA) in order to find out how members of the national and international Gusii diaspora can contribute to the improvement of educational standards in the Gusii districts of Kenya.
Objectives

to collectively mobilize resources to be used for projects aimed at the betterment of the educational opportunities of the Gusii learners in the Diaspora.
- to become united and eager to discuss and explore ways to enhance the quality of education among the Gusii in the Diaspora.
- to operate in a manner that enables the organization to respond sensitively, urgently, and constructively to issues that affect the educational and related issues of the Gusii community.
- to establish Gusii Educational Foundation for the express purpose of accomplishing the purpose of the organization.
